Heart & Soul: A program featuring two iconic piano trios
Program:
-Franz Schubert – Piano Trio Eflat Major
-Pjotr Tsjaikovski – Piano Trio: subtitled À la mémoire d’un grand artiste
Schubert composed his Piano Trio for the engagement party of his friend Josef von Spaun. The second movement has been featured in numerous films, and its theme is inspired by the Swedish folk song Se solen sjunker.
Tchaikovsky wrote his Piano Trio in memory of his dear friend, mentor, and esteemed artist Nikolai Rubinstein. Initially, he was reluctant to compose for piano trio, believing that the piano would not blend well with the strings. However, in the end, he was highly satisfied with the result. This masterpiece beautifully demonstrates how the piano and strings can merge harmoniously and has since become one of the most iconic piano trios ever written.
Join us with these iconic trios resonating with deep emotion, touching the heart and soul—allowing yours to speak.

Schubertiade – A Celebration with Mendelssohn and Schubert
By the Roterodamus Ensemble-String Quartet
Welcome to an evening of music, poetry, and friendship.
Inspired by Schubert’s own gatherings and the musical salons of the Mendelssohn family, this Schubertiade is more than a concert—it’s a shared experience. Musicians and audience come together in a warm, intimate setting.
At the heart of the program are two radiant string quartets: Schubert’s lyrical Rosamunde and Mendelssohn’s joyful D major quartet, written for the Crown Prince of Sweden.
Adding a personal touch, Letizia Sciarone has arranged several of Schubert’s beloved songs for string quartet, while Mendelssohn’s Songs Without Words offer a lyrical complement.
In true salon style, we invite you to be part of the evening. Feel free to bring a poem or share a favorite text—and join us for a night of connection through music, words, and spirit.
Program:
– Franz Schubert – String Quartet No. 13 in A minor, D.804 “Rosamunde”
– Franz Schubert / Letizia Sciarone – Selected Songs (arranged for string quartet)
Familiar melodies from Schubert’s Lieder: Die Post and Abendstern, lovingly reimagined for quartet.
– Felix Mendelssohn – String Quartet in D major, opus 44, no 1.
-Felix Mendelssohn – Songs without words (arranged for string quartet)
